About the role

You will build secure, reliable software for digital financial services and work across the full stack, from backend services and data to web applications and cloud delivery.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain secure, reliable backend services.
Build and improve APIs, business workflows and system integrations.
Deliver solutions end to end across backend services, data, web applications and production deployment.
Design efficient database models, queries and migrations.
Maintain correctness across transactions, concurrent operations and asynchronous processes.
Handle external-service failures, retries, timeouts and duplicate requests safely.
Improve application security, performance, testing and observability.
Diagnose production issues and implement lasting solutions.
Contribute to cloud deployments, automation and CI/CD.
Take ownership from technical design through production delivery.

Basic qualifications

Strong software-engineering and computer-science fundamentals.
Professional backend development experience, preferably with Java and Spring Boot.
Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs.
Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL and transaction management.
Ability to contribute to modern JavaScript or TypeScript web applications.
Experience with OCI, AWS or another major cloud platform.
Understanding of application security, authentication and authorization.
Experience with Docker, Linux and CI/CD workflows.
Ability to investigate complex production problems systematically.
Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and business domains quickly.
A self-directed working style, with the initiative to identify next steps and drive work to completion without constant supervision.
Clear communication and sound engineering judgment.

Preferred skills and experience

Fintech, banking, payments, lending or other transaction-heavy systems.
Integrating with banks, payment gateways, identity platforms or external service providers.
Financial calculations, payment processing or reconciliation.
Distributed systems, caching and asynchronous processing.
Production monitoring, logging and performance analysis.
Building systems that process sensitive or regulated information.
